We strive to give our Youth as many skill building opportunities as possible. From coping and self care, to resume building and workplace essential skills, and even certification like First Aid/CPR, Food Safety, Financial Literacy and Academics, just to name a few. Our hope is that by the complete the 16 week program, our youth will be well equipped, qualified and confident to pursue whichever field of work or study that they choose.
We place a large emphasis on Volunteering and Network in our communities, creating opportunities to engage, people within the community and see what careers or post secondary opportunities are available to our Youth.
We place an emphasis on working with our hands because it connects us to our bodies and can help us to stay grounded in the present moment. Another benefit of this work is that each handmade product is reflection of our participant employees' commitment, patience and investment in this process, and this can help them to develop confidence in themselves and their work. All proceeds from our social enterprise are returned to our organization to help us fund future programs.
We know that health and wellness encompasses so many aspects of our life, which is why we endeavour to integrate multiple elements. Participant employees will have the chance to participate in outdoor walks, daily physical exercise, cooking classes, mindfulness and meditation, journaling, among other possible activities. We aim to provide a structured, balanced lifestyle that will allow our participant employees the space and ability to blossom and thrive to their fullest.
As the Youth complete their 16 weeks with In The Works, we work with our Youth to provide them with the tools and resources, encourage and support them through the transition to Meaningful Employment or Post Secondary Education
